Hello everyone,
Long time Plex user here. I recently acquired a QNAP TS-228 and have tried to put Plex on it. Everything says it installed just fine, but when I go to my local ip , 11.0.0.2:32400/web/index.html, it forwards me to the Plex.tv login process and never lets me actually claim the server or set up libraries.
I have tried to search for this issue, and found some similar issues, but nothing that really solves my problem.
Any help would be appreciated.
I know I have the most recent version as I installed from the Plex.tv download and not from the QNAP App Store.
the IP address isn’t per RFC 1918.
192.168.x.x, 172.16.x.x -> 172.31.x.x, and 10.x.x.x
Unless you put your LAN in one of those blocks, You will need to use the SSH tunnel
ssh -L 8888:127.0.0.1:32400 ip.addr.of.qnap
This happens because of PMS default security. 11.x.x.x is not a known ‘Private Network’ address (the RFC). PMS considers your address to be ‘Remote’ and not on your local LAN. It’s preventing an ‘intruder’ from gaining control of your PMS while you’re trying to set it up / lost control of it.
Thank you very much.
Solved my issue.
After I log in through SSH, what’s the command line to fix this? What do I have to type in? Taking into consideration that the qnaps local IP is 100.1.1.107
Thanks
