plex continues to crash on multiple movies I have tried. I receive an error “An error occurred while attempting to play this video. Please try restarting both the Plex Media Server and this app.” I have reviewed logs for my ds918+ with Synology and they don’t see any issues.
I have 3 16tb seagate nas pro drives and I have only used 28%.

Still having issues. Plex continues to freeze. Issues at 10:03 pm CST. I made the changes and updates you suggested but does not seem to help.
I have checked the connections and replaced the network cables. How do I disable relay? I don’t think I have done that.
i am using a fire cube to play plex on my tv.
i have checked my network connections and replaced all network cables. I have cleaned up most of the files but continue to have Plex drop connections.

How is your 918+ connected ? Do you have 1 LAN-cable or does it have both LAN sockets cabled ? Did you configure any “bonding” ?
What type/model of switch is it connected too ?
yes, only have one port in use as the Synology support said to unplug one of them. I have a TP-link 8 port Gigabit switch TL-SG108 installed now. I was running a d-link DGS-108 before and had the same problems. I am really at a loss on what to do. I guess it may be my ds918+ at this point.
You might think so, I’m running Plex for years on the 918+, have installed dozens if not 100 versions of Plex releases from the moment they arrived in the beta-channel and never,ever had any networking issues like this…
On the other hand, if your NAS does not give any other weird issues while copy files and doing file-service actions that is also weird. Perhaps PLEX is slightly more “sensitive” to this.
Did you REBOOT the 918+ after you pulled the second LAN-cable as per support instructions ?
yes, I shut down the 918+ and unplugged the second LAN-cable.
I installed Plex on a home computer and ran the same files on my tv with no issues.
I ordered a replacement 918+ so we will see if that fixes the issues. Thats the last piece that i have not replaced.
Received my new 918+ and no issues. All works perfect now.
Did Synology replace under warranty ?
It was less then 30 days so NewEgg replaces it under warranty.
