I recently opened a ticket regarding plex/shield 480i/p stuttering every 15 minutes-ish after an update. The update was a major one for the shield, I was late doing it, but there was also a plex player update. NOTE: no stuttering with 1080 or 2160. I abandoned the ticket because no one else was having the problem.
with the roku ultimate, no 480 stuttering.
I am ready to scrap the shield, but before I do I would like to know how I should approach addressing the problem now that I know the problem is either the shield and/or plex player, not the server.
if so, its better to continue that existing thread.
there is a ‘new player’ that has been enabled in recent shield updates, if you go into the plex settings > advanced (scroll over to the right) you can disable the new player and see if that makes a difference.
In any case, its hard to provide help without more details.

the media info of problem file (3 dot menu > get info)
I appreciate the willingness to help, and I understand your approach. however, I think you missed my intent. regarding videos and samples, e.g., mkv dvds-std codecs, why does it matter when I did not have the problem until the updates?? and I do not have the problem with roku? I did not change my videos; I did not change my settings. and what could I do to create stuttering every 15minutes for 480 videos that stops stuttering for 15min if I hit the back button once? note: I tried every setting, to include both players. I did not find a way to access logs for the player or server that had relevant info that explained 15minute anything for 480 videos. I looked at background processes, nothing. the server hardware is plenty, win10, wired connection, updated. no problem with 2160p and 1080p.
like I said, I get the approach, but I am not going to rehash and rethrash my shield and my time for a problem that was not there prior an update. The last thread I did not have the roku and could not eliminate the server. now I can. shield or plex player? I want them to know, but why would they care if I am the only one. That just hit me, what am I doing?
