Plex Pass member but still no subtitle download option. How do I get that?

Server Version#: 1.13.9.5439

There is supposed to be a way to download subtitles manually now, however I am not seeing it. I am supposed to be able to see a “More…” option on the page of the episode or movie as per: https://hooktube.com/watch?v=0uGHr68lRFc. Yet I don’t even have a drop down option if there is no subtitle present, let alone a “More…” option.

The worst part is my client has the option. On my Shield client I have the “More…” option but it errors out in finding subtitles, I assume because the Plex Media Server does not have this option yet.

So how do I get this option in Plex Media Server? What version do I need to have and where do I get it? Thanks!

Edit: Client error when I try and download a subtitle is “Something went wrong when fetching the subtitles list.”

Edit2: Since I am already asking about this, I’d like to add an additional question. Does this new feature use the credentials for Opensubtitles from the Opensubtitle agent? I am a paying Opensubtitle member so I’d like to use my own account to manually download subtitles.

I have the same question regarding subtitle searches on the web app as well. I can do subtitle searches on my Shield TV app (I don’t get the errors you’re seeing though) but the web app has no such option.

Use the hosted web app. https://app.plex.tv/desktop
And don’t hamper it with web browser add ons.

Okay that works. Had to disable privacy badger on the site for it to work. Why is this only enabled on the hosted web app and not on the bundled one?

Because the bundled web app is still too old.
It will eventually get updated during the course of a later PMS update.
