PLEX player does not want to read eac3

I am on the latest version of PLEX media server. i have tested on the latest versions of PLEX media player on mac and windows and i am having the following problem, i cannot play eac3 audio. nothing comes out sound level and this is very recent problem

Are you using “HDMI passthrough”? i.e. what kind of amplifier/AVR/soundbar is connected and what kind of connection is between PC and TV and sound output?

Same issue for me. About a month ago, all of my apple devices (Mac, iPad, iPhone) stopped playing EAC3 audio files through the Plex app. Video plays fine with no audio.

Playing the same file through the web app on those devices still works fine.

Are you using Apple beta’s?

The same issue is already confirmed on tvOS.

I’m having the same issue, on Windows 10 Edge and Xbox App.

Audio works fine and Android App, iPhone App and Plex media player on Windows 10.

I’ve only noticed this in the last 4-5 weeks though.

EDIT: after some extra checking, the xbox now works (nothing has changed ), Opera GX works as well. It would seem as my issues is with MS Edge (92.0.902.62).
