(Reverted to 1.68.2.3746, which appeared to function normally before upgrading to 1.32.1.6999, and now continues appearing to function normally after reverting.)

I am having the same issue with 1.69.1.3755. Everything in the app works fine, it just hangs when I go to quit the Plex Player.

macOS: Ventura 13.3.1(a)

I will try reverting to see if it fixes the issue as per the suggestion above. I came here to make sure it was not just me.

Yeah facing the same issues. Also, it seems like there’s some font scaling issues. Whenever the app starts all the text is really pixelated. I have to fullscreen and unfullscreen for it to fix itself.

The hanging on quit was noticed/fixed internally a few hours ago. It appears it is only an issue when downloads are accessed/used and only on the Mac.

What does “fixed internally” mean? Does that mean, Mac customers should re-download what appears to be the same release and re-install such?

The download pane appears to have the exact same display characters now, 12 May 2023 5:33pm PDT [-0700]:

Is a new version of Plex coming out to fix the issue?

I have nothing downloaded on my Mac. It’s all on my Plex Server.

I am experiencing the same problem. Now several days without a fix it is becoming frustrating. From today I will avoid using Plex for macOS and instead use Plex web for library maintenance tasks (mostly prompting library scan when adding media).

Can someone advise where to download a old version. It seems not to be fixed (soon) and till that time we have to work with an old version. Thanks in advance

I have reverted this on mac and that works but I don’t want to do this on all my macs. Any ETA on when a fixed version will be released? I use brew to update everything so reverting is a pain v. just upgrading.

Brand New M2 mac book pro same problem as above everything works fine untill you close just the plex app the media tv app works fine the plexamp app works fine.

Version 1.69.1.3755-e00242c8

Apparently, Plex is in no rush to fix this…

Is there a place to download prior versions of Plex Player for Mac? I can only find websites with prior versions of Plex Media Server…

If the auto-update had previously update you to a prior version before the current version, you can find the previous updates in ~/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Updates. These packages are intended for the updater so they are missing the outer Plex.app directory so you will need to create that dir and put the Contents directory in the zip archive inside the Plex.app dir.

The fixed version is currently going through QA right now.

Having same issue, Locks up every time I try to close the app. I’ve logged off, deleted app, redownloaded it, only to have same problem. Odd as I’m not having this issue on 2 other older Mac computers in the same house. Defiantly hope new version corrects this issue.

OS Version: macOS 13.3.1 (Build 22E772610a)
Architecture: x86_64h
Plex Version: 1.69.1 (1.69.1)

I’m getting the same issue here, I have to always Force Quit the app

macOS 13.3.1.a | M1/ARM | Plex 1.69.1.3755

Thank you for your efforts to fix this issue. At least i now know that am not the only one so i don’t need to waste any more time trying to troubleshoot this. Any update on the upcoming release? Is there a beta we could use in the meantime?

In addition to the problem described here, Live TV playback exits after several seconds of playback.

If you use Time Machine, even if you haven’t backed up since installing the new version, you should be able to go to the Applications folder and launch Time Machine and restore your previous version of Plex.

same issue here
