I am having the same issue and so far I have only noticed it with episodes of TV shows that are in the “Specials” folder. I am using the recommended naming conventions (S00E01).
All of my files are MKVs so I do not think LMA has anything to do with it in my case. It is my understanding that Plex does not read metadata from MKVs.
It’s the same for me. Only the “Specials” episodes are having this issue. And like I said in my previous post, it didn’t do this in the older build (a build from sometime late last year) I tested with.
Chiming in, I’ve also been having this issue where some specials are playing wrong and random files, it started in 1.22. Rolling back to 1.21 fixes it and that’s what i’m doing
from what i can gather the file you are trying to play is in the play queue if you check at the very bottom.
also appears plex dev team are working on it so hopefully a fix soon since they said they reported the bug like 2 weeks ago.
I also encountered the same problem. In Specials Season, if multiple videos have the same broadcast date, or the broadcast time of the following video is earlier than the previous video, when I click to play, the correct video cannot be played。
Just had this issue happen. I have a bunch of specials that suddenly play the same one video (from the same specials folder) even though it’s showing the correctly linked video under info.
I recently upgraded to version 4.54.5 and now I too am getting this error. When I try to play any of the new specials I added for Breaking Bad, it now plays the pilot episode every time. My files are not mp4 either, they are mkv. It seems like this latest release is bug laden.
Thank you, I will try upgrading to that version, since the previous still has this issue for me too. Strangely my server did not notify me that the newer version was available.
