Plex PMS cannot locate itself

Server Version#: 4.3.6.0993
Player Version#: 1.16.5.1554-1e5ff713d-x86_64

Hello,
I have a problem in which the app installed on the QNAP TS-251+ cannot see its own server.

I recently moved, and since then:
Though I can see and play media from the server on my iPad, I cannot connect to it from the Plex app on my Apple TV or web interface, nor can the app installed on the NAS see the server.

I have reinstalled Plex to its latest version, and updated the firmware on the NAS drive (and restarted the NAS and PMS), but to no avail.

Both the NAS and the rest of my devices are on the same network, on the same subnet.
I have of course tried to login to the server via the direct link ( https://192.168.X.XX:32400/web/index.html )

AS said, I recently moved, so (obviously) the network is different, but I can connect to the NAS via the web interface, and the QNAP app.

What gives?

My guess, and only a guess without logs, is bad default gateway or DNS

Check that, and if nothing, restart PMS in the AppCenter, and after that, upload the logs

That is a perfectly valid question.

What would one look for in the logs?
I managed to get into them (Woohoo for SSH and Cyberduck) but the log file is 200KB long, and that is only since I reinstalled it 1hour ago.

I keep seeing these entries:
Sep 09, 2019 19:44:33.842 [0x7f4aae39d700] ERROR - SSDP: Error parsing device schema for http://192.168.0.23:49153/description3.xml

But the IP address 192.168.0.23:49153 is wrong. The QNAP is not on 0.23

Sadly no idea here, since still fighting blindfolded

Upload them as a zip, and I’ll tell you what/if I find anything

And what you saw in the logs, was PMS trying to find UPnP devices

Fair enough:

Here are the three last log files.
(see below)
I opened up the app on the NAS, let it start, tried to login from the web link, and played from the iPad, then shut it down.

Hope it helps

Sorry, but I’m NOT going to register/access at some random site in order to get your logs!

Upload a zip here, and with ALL the files, not just the ones you selected

plex_logs.zip (17.6 KB)

Sorry, dident spot you could upload files here…
Files now upload here

Well, still only the 3 files you selected
But good enough though

Your PMS can’t access plex.tv!

Ref:

So this looks like you have your DNS in place (I think), but maybe has a bad default gateway setup on your QNAP

QNAP manual:
https://docs.qnap.com/nas/4.1/SMB/en/index.html?network.htm

AAAAAA!!!

Thank you!

That did it!

So, what I had done, was check the network settings in the QNAP WiFi, where Gateway settings were, and they were all fine (and I had swapped them) but what I had NOT done, was to check the settings in the “normal” network settings.
In the “System Default Gateway” The WiFi was selected as “Auto-select system default gatewaty” but apparently it did not work! After I manually selected the WiFi as the default Gateway, the Plex sprung to life, and after a restart, Apple TV is also abl to connect to PMS.

Thanks for your help!
