I have a PMS that I share with friends and it’s working fine. Yesterday I added another friend so they could use Plex on their new Sony TV.
On the new TV I can sign them into Plex but as soon as I go to settings and press enter Plex just quits. I can watch Movies and TV Shows, just cannot go into settings.
As I could not go into Settings to Sign Out I uninstalled and reinstalled Plex and Signed In using another of my friends logins. I could then go into settings. Signed Out, and signed in with yet another user. All good and can go into settings.
Signed out and signed in with my recent friends details and as soon as I went into settings Plex quits.
Any ideas what is stopping this one user to go into Settings?
Not using Browser, only using Plex Client on the Sony TV.

I sign out of the Plex Client on the TV. Click on Sign In and then pick up my phone sign into plex.tv/link and enter the code on the TV. I just repeat this signing into different accounts on my phone and then entering the Plex Code on the TV.
It is only when I use the new users login details and sign in to plex.tv/link that I cannot go into settings.
EDIT:
I have just created another account on Plex and added it to the PMS. If I uninstall Plex Client from the Sony TV, Install it, click on Sign In, pickup my phone and goto plex.tv/link and login with this new account, enter the code on the TV, go to Settings and press enter. Plex quits.
Repeat this on both my friends new TV and my 6 month old Sony TV both with the same results.
Hi. I have same problem with Sony Bravia Andriod. I can open “Settings” with managed user but no with main admin account. I think it’s couse i link Plex with Google account on initial signing up. I shoud sign up wit username and password. Maybe… but there is no reason not to work anyway???
I’m really surprised no one else is having this issue with new users. As the problem is only related to new users, and not old user accounts, this issue is surely a Plex issue.
What is so different that new users cannot go into settings when using a Sony TV? Maybe it’s Android TV and not Sony, I just don’t have another Android TV device to test on.
I have discovered today, admin user can’t open settings and plex can’t remember subtitles style settings. Every next movie needs setting subtitles style again. Managed user can open settings button, but subtitles style can’t be remembered also. Every new movie or episode, i am setting style.
