yes, as I mentioned in my first message. The remote access page shows green and no issues, but every remote smart tv client that tries to connect just gets the spinning wheel after linking. no changes to network setup before the issue occurred.
Go to each smart TV and make certain their Date/time (clock) is in sync with NTP.
HTTPS requires both server and player to be within milliseconds of the time standard to work.
Secondarily, do you have a proxy involved ?
no proxy, and three separate TVs failed in three locations at the same time.
This is a bit extreme but will yield a great deal of info.
- On ONE of the TVs,
- Uninstall the Plex app
- Restart the TV (Hard restart – full power off - wait - power on . Not standby restart )
- Install the app again and Link it to an account.
- Now have it open / go to the server.
If this fails, We will need to pull the TVs client logs while the app is still open

“I think I’m having the same issue. Can someone please check my cert?”
[mod edit: your server’s certificate is perfectly fine. It just got renewed a few days ago.]
Would appreciate it if someone could do a quick check for me also. Thanks.

[edit: thanks mod team, appreciate the confirmation.]
Can you check mine as well? I’m having remove connectivity issues.
[mod edit: Done. Please wait at least 10 minutes, then stop and restart your server.]
Can I also get mine checked? I can log in via my ip but not from the andoird app or app.plex.tv
thank you!

Any idea on what to do next since I can only see it via my ip address and not the plex app?
A post was split to a new topic: Can only get INDIRECT connection
Hey Plex Team, I believe there’s a chance I am impacted by the stuck cert issue, are you able to check? Thank you.
[mod edit: your server’s certificate is not affected. This particular issue can only affect servers which already existed in September of last year.]
Team, I believe I may have a cert issues as well. I see the secure connection error on plex.tv. Can you check this for me please?

Hi Plex Team, I continue experiencing issues with remote access and may be impacted by the stuck cert issue, are you able to check? Thanks for the help.

I may be having the same issue. Thank you and hug ops to the Plex folks for being so responsive in this thread!
Edit: I think fixed? Users can remotely connect now, and I see “Fully accessible outside your network” in the remote access settings again. Thank you!
Never mind, didn’t realize I had hoped over to the unraid server board. But something is up, remote access shows no libraries right now
Could I be one of those too?

Hi guys, can someone from support help me reset my tls certificate? My server stopped connecting securely remotely, though http still worked. I tried removing the old certificate so it would generate a new one, but I keep getting the 429 error in the logs, even after leaving the server off overnight to make sure I wasn’t exceeding any rate limits:
ERROR - CERT: Error acquiring new certificate: Failed to upload CSR: 429
Any help would be greatly appreciated! ![]()
