How can I use Plex Remote Access with ExpressVPN? Is there a way, or a work around to do this? Or is there a good VPN that will work with Plex Remote Access?

You have to use split tunneling. If you go into the options at the bottom of the general tab check “Manage connection on a per app basis”. Then click settings and hit the radio button for “Do not allow selected apps to use VPN”. Add Plex Media Server as an app to not use the VPN.
A couple issues I see using ExpressVPN with PMS are as follows:
- Unable to access settings while VPN is running
- I can scan all types of media and new ones will populate except for TV shows
- I have issues connecting to PMS outside of my network. Many times I am unable to connect but occasionally I am able to play something
I was looking for something else and came across this, I am surprised you never got an answer, but many don’t want ot help with VPN’s I guess.
I found a fix for the outside the network issue.
I switched things up and I am able to get to my media from outside my network now. I am currently running the newest beta version of ExpressVPN 10.2.1.54 but I am not sure if it is that or just the change I made in the split tunneling.
I changed the split tunnel to “Only allow selected apps to use the VPN”. I added all of my browsers and Qbit to this list then fired it up. It has been working like a charm ever since.
