Plex says my Music folder is empty but it isn't

I had TWO different albums, each which had a song that was not ripped correctly. So when I would listen to a specific song, it actually started with about 10 seconds of the previous song. Must have been an issue with the software I was using as I ripped these discs years ago

So I re-ripped these two albums in Apple music and confirmed that the songs were ripped correctly and tracks did not bleed into each other.

I then replaced the tracks on my Plex drive (i’m using an external hard drive connected to an Nvidia Shield Device).

Now Plex has removed the albums. They don’t show up in the library. But when I go to “Folder” mode, I can see the folders for both albums. Yet when I open the folder, it says the folder is empty. But I have verified multiple times that the folders aren’t empty and the tracks are there.

How can I get Plex to recognize these tracks and show the albums once again in the library?

Well, that didn’t take long for me to figure it out and answer my own question.

If you are experiencing a similar problem, here is what I did to fix the issue.

I went to Settings on top menu (looks like a wrench)
On the left sidebar, I scrolled down clicked on “Libraries”

On the right, it showed all my different libraries (the different tabs I had created)
Since my issue was with music tracks, I hovered over the library that said “Music”

When you hover over a library, it shows you different options…go to the far right, where the 3 vertical dots are. Hover over that and a drop-down menu appears.

Click on the option that says “Empty Trash”. Apparently, when I replaced the files, it must have put the old files in the trash. Somehow, this was confusing Plex.

Once I emptied the trash and then did a new “Scan for Files” on my Music directory, the Albums reappared. And the tracks were correct with no issues.
