Plex scan doesn't pick up channels

Hey guys,

I’ve got an Xbox One tuner that I decided to try on my Shield TV with Plex. The tuner worked fine plugged into my PC and Plex scanned all the channels I should have gotten and the DVR worked, no problem. But due to heavy use of the computer, I decided to try and move the media server over to the Shield.

But when I try it on the Shield media server I setup, it’s not picking up anything. I created a new media server, logged into the web app and changed over to the new Sheild server.

Plex sees the tuner and it scans for channels. And finds nothing. I tried scanning in the Channels app on the Sheild, and it found all the stations I had on my computer. So I know the signal and tuner is good.

Any ideas why this is happening? I’m running Version 1.9.6.4429 of the server and the Shield has the latest update with Google Assistant on it (6.1). The Plex app is also up to date on the Sheild.

Any ideas why Plex doesn’t find channels but another app will?

Pretty much the same boat as you, Am based in NZ and scanning for Freeview over DVB-T2, I kept retrying on scanning channels on the Shield and Plex until it started to pick them up, but it doesn’t seem to get them all, just certain ones broadcasting on certain bands. so each time I scan I get nothing or just a few channels broadcasting on a particular band.

Tried the TV card in a PC and boom, all NZ freeview channels on the first attempt, so as you I know the USB stick is good. Its Plex that has the issues.
