Plex sees server but is not accessible. (triangle with exclamation point)

DSM version 7.1-42661
Model DS920+
Plex Version 4.43.4
PC Windows 10

I can see my files in the proper folders when plex is launched from the Synology NAS server. When I open Plex on another device (such as a firestick), it sees the server however there is a triangle with an exclamation point in it. I can do nothing to get into it. I assume this is a permissions issue but have had no success in getting it to work. How do I proceed?

Also, In the permissions tab in shared folders I have a “Plex” option but not a “PlexMediaServer” option. “PlexMediaServer” is found under “System Internal User”, not “Local User”. Is this correct?

Thanks

A few things:

  1. If the server name (leftmost panel) has a triangle over it, then it isn’t being seen / server isn’t talking to you.

  2. For Permissions in DSM 7 – You want PlexMediaServer (we had to change all the names for DSM 7 )
I put that popup at the end of installation but I can’t tell you how many people just ‘blow right through it’

K, I have “PlexMediaServer” with read/write permission but its still not allowed.

Not sure where to go.

Actually, this might be a firestick issue. I can login and see my content on my Android phone.

Show me please (screenshot)

I sometimes need the firestick to restart if it’s not seeing things correctly.

Takes about 1 minute

Well ■■■■, that was it. A dam reboot.

Sorry for taking your time on a simple solution.
