Plex Series Agent identifying wrong series even with tvdb ID in search and in folder title

Trying to match Stranded on Honeymoon Island (AU) using Plex Series Agent and it will not do it. It keeps delivering a foreign version titled “Gestrand op Honeymoon Island” with seemingly the metadata being pulled from Gestrand op Honeymoon Island (TV Series 2023- ) — The Movie Database (TMDB). A ‘Fix Match’ search only brings up the UK, and several European versions.

Searching via the direct tvdb ID number (463666) only brings up the Gestrand result, and this is the same if I search via its tmdb ID (296005). I use TRaSH naming conventions so the tvdb ID is already present in the folder name.

Changing the library agent to tvdb brings the correct result, but I’d rather not leave my whole library on a legacy agent if support is going to be limited going forward, as well as the constant notification telling me to upgrade to the Plex agent.

Anyone know what’s going on here?

Server Version#: 1.42.1.10060

I have the same issue with this show as well as the UK version of the show (imdb-tt33398061, tvdb-467167).

https://watch.plex.tv/ appears to have these shows confused/conflated. Would be nice if this could be fixed since there is nothing that can be done on the user’s side.

I seem to be having a similar issue, where Cheers, an American show from the 80s and 90s, gets a bit messy with metadata (specifically in Season 11) and it doesn’t match up. I can’t find a way to get it working and have the correct data, even trying to unmatch and rematch and use a .plexmatch file with the tvdb id in it. any help would be appreciated.

I have filed this as a bug in the database.

Thanks.

Not sure if it is related to your filing, but this is semi-fixed in my instance now - both the AU and UK shows resolving as different series, and able to be matched successfully to the correct show using Plex Series Agent. Metadata for the AU series not quite correct (no episode descriptions and showing the UK presenter), but it is progress from where it was.
