If you are on windows, and also running tautulli this could help. I’ll just run a tautulli notification agent, choose script and set the Trigger “when server is down”
Make a text file and put in this text:
@echo off
taskkill /f /im “Plex Media Server.exe”
START “” “C:\Program Files (x86)\Plex\Plex Media Server\Plex Media Server.exe”
Not sure if it the same in windows server OS though.
After name it something u whant with the bat extension “restartplex.bat” for eksample, and put it somewhere easy to find 
just point to this file in notification agent and ur good to go.
Works for me. But remember to turn the notification agent off if you’re updating the plex media server. Not sure what will happen. I have set the server to not update automatically anyways.
Also I’m not sure if its killing all the plex processes but I don’t care the server starts again and starts working almost immediately.
Note It will also start plex up again if u manually close it.
It’s a work-around but not ideal. Better than having to do it manually all the time…
