As sometimes happens, PMS forgets it’s YOUR PMS during the upgrade.
I think it has something to do with network / ISP but could never figure it out.
The solution , however, is simple.
In the rewrite for DSM 7, I was able to provide an installation menu/GUI.
The functionality is limited but does provide the important elements
For you, you want the following steps
-
Uninstall Only (Keep all files for future reinstallation) – you’ll see why momentarily
-
Reinstall the same package again , HOWEVER
– select the ‘New or Lost Servers’ button (Plex Claim Token method)
– Click the hyperlink .
– New tab opens with thatclaim-xxxxxtoken displayed
– COPY to your browser
– Return to the installation menu
– PASTE the token in the box on the installation menu page
– Click NEXT - NEXT - DONE
After installing the software again, the package installer will next use that claim token to get new credentials for your server
When it completes, If all has been successful,
- The installation is OK
- The installer will show your Plex Username
- The installer will show your Plex Email
(Username and Email confirm the server is your server again)
NEXT – You will need to grant permission for the new DSM 7 username ( PlexMediaServer ) to read your media. This was a DSM 7 mandated change.
NOTE: The Syno FAQ has a number of DSM 7 specific articles to assist in the transition
