Plex server down after power cut

After a power cut my Plex server became unaccessible via web app. I can sign in but the server is unreachable.
I have tried deleting all system files and reinstalling fresh with the latest package from the website. Install goes fine but when I go to open Plex from the list of packages in the Synology control centre I get:

400 Bad Request

The plain HTTP request was sent to HTTPS port

I can see the server in the web app but has a red triangle next to it and gives the error:

app.plex.tv is unable to connect to ā€œEOTAnasā€ securely

I’ve spent the last hour researching this problem but to no avail! Can anyone point me towards a solution? Ta

I’m running 1.29.1.6276-7000 on Synology DS218 with DSM 7.1-42661 Update 4

Is your DS218 functioning and is the app running on it?

  1. Uninstall the package with the KEEP option
  2. Reinstall the same SPK again - HOWEVER
  • Use the ā€œNew or Lost serversā€ (Plex Claim Token method)
  • Click ā€œGet Plex Claim Tokenā€ link
  • COPY the token your browser gives you in the new tab
  • PASTE the token in the small box on the installation page
  • Click NEXT NEXT DONE

If the Syno is working OK, it will confirm it’s signed back into your account and show ā€œClaimed by: YourPlexUsernameā€

Hi, yes functioning normally and yes app says its installed and running like before

Hello, thanks for the reply. I first tried uninstalling with the keep option but no success. I then did a full uninstall, manually deleted all Plex files on the file explorer via Synology quick connect and used the claim token option when re-installing. The server then shows on the web app but with the little red triangle.

Fully close and reopen the browser. It’s caching the old data. It needs to refresh

FYI : You did not need to delete everything. PlexClaimToken avoids all that.

I have just tried logging in via Brave instead of Safari, no luck. I’ll attach a screenshot.
Also other strange things are happening, under settings it says I am logged in to my normal email address account but in the top right it says I am logged into an account I have never heard of. Ill attach another screenshot. Any thoughts?

Do any of these screenshots contain any sensitive data that I shouldn’t put into a public forum?

Please do the following:

  1. Stop PMS
  2. Using filestation, navigate to PlexMediaServer/AppData/Plex Media Server
  3. Right-click ā€œLogsā€ → ā€œCompress to Logs.zipā€
  4. When it finishes , download that zip file to your computer
  5. Attach (upload) it here with your next reply

Looks like we’re getting closer to a solution.
Ive just signed in on the local server and instead of a red triangle I’m getting a green padlock.
Under remote access I’m getting

Not available outside your network

Your server is signed in to Plex, but is not reachable from outside your network.

Here are also the logs.
Thank you for your help.

Logs.zip (1.5 MB)

Do you know you have TWO active server entries with the exact same name?

That explains the red triangle – ONE of them is dead and doesn’t exist anymore.

It looks like Plex/web is latching on to the dead one first.

Open https://app.plex.tv/desktop/#!/settings/devices/pms

Find the old/dead server and REMOVE it

Now CLOSE the entire browser and open fresh

I did not know that, that seems to have done the trick thank you very much!

I am now getting a yellow circle which states an indirect connection. Is there anything you can think of to resolve that?

Thanks again

Hi, I’m afraid I’m back again… It worked like before a couple of times, then back to the old no connection again with the red triangle. Now my server isn’t even showing.
Any idea whats going on?

With PMS stopped.

Manually make a fresh ZIP of the ā€œLogsā€ folder.
Download it then attach it here.

we’ll start with that.
