“Server Is Currently Unavailable”

“Server Is Currently Unavailable”

I’m running Plex server app 1.29.2.6364-7000 on Synology DSM 7.2.1-69057 Update 3.

Someone hacked into my Plex account and changed my email address so I had to go through the recovery process using the link/code.

Now that I’m able to log into my Plex account without any issues, my server is gone. I only see the server in the pinned section.

When I click on the pinned server I get a message that “it’s currently unavailable”.

When I go to the settings section I see it with the message that “The server is unreachable”.

If anyone knows how to fix this issue please let me know, I would greatly appreciate it, thanks.

Uninstall the DSM 7 package with the KEEP option

Now reinstall the same package (SPK / version)

– Choose the Plex Claim Token option
– Click the “Get Plex Claim Token” hyperlink
– A new tab opens
– COPY that claim token
– Return to the installer page and PASTE the claim-xxxx token into the box on the form
– Click NEXT NEXT DONE and allow it to install

It will take a few seconds longer but will then confirm claimed to your Plex username if successful

Hi @ChuckPa,

Great, thanks for the directions, I’ll give it a try. I just want to make sure of one thing. By choosing the “keep all existing files” I won’t lose all my playlists, collections, thumbnail posters, etc. Correct?

Correct.

On Synology, the program files (raw pms itself) are stored in one area (@appstore).
Your server (all the metadata and databases) are stored in the Plex share (DSM 6) and PlexMediaServer share (DSM 7).

Uninstall - KEEP means to only remove the program files and keep all the server’s data files. I don’t touch the server data.

When you next install, it’ll find the server data sitting there and use it as-is.

You’ll notice there’s also an ERASE option.
That ERASE option would delete the server data.
(Use that if you want to completely start over)

Awesome, I’ll try it out today, thanks :+1:

Thanks again @ChuckPa, your solution worked perfectly, everything is back to normal :tada:
