Plex Server DVR missing metadata unplayable

Some small amount of recorded DVR items have no metadata attached resulting in errors when playing from all kinds of Plex DirectPlay devices.

Initially my issue was connection errors and playback errors including S1001 (Network) within Plex but Movies & TV app was able to play it fine. After some digging through the logs and such, I tried to dig for problematic codec info from the recorded media.

Optimizing within Plex will result in "Invalid Metadata " error.

Turns out all the problematic files do not have any codec info from the Media info page.

VLC reports the codec to be

What is the best way to add metadata to the files?

I have tried Analyze on one of the files which did not resolve my issue.

I have attached logs (some info redacted) from Plex Media Player for Windows playing an one of the affected file.

Edit: the issue is caused by my changing local app data while the server continues to record

One thing to note that might have caused this in the first place is I changed Server>General(Advanced)>“The path where local application data is stored” few hours prior.

So I merged over stuff from previous local application data over and overwrite any of the same name files on the new directory. All files play now. Issue resolved. However, the system should try to warn user to copy data over or do it for them and tell them to restart plex server.
