I just updated my DSM on my Synology NAS to 7.0, and therefore had to update the Plex application on the DSM to whatever the newest one was. I did this several days ago. I will update with more information when I am in front of my computer, but I was hoping that I could get some insight as to why I can no longer access my files on the Plex app for Android anymore?
I’m having the same issue. Everything except Android devices connects to my server. All my various Android devices say the server is offline. This includes a Moto G Stylus, Samsung Tab A, and a Fire HD device. I’ve tried reinstalling the app with older beta and/or stable versions and they do not see my server which is otherwise running fine on my PC and my Roku devices. I rebooted my server and that didn’t fix anything. It was working just fine the other day, though I can’t remember exactly when I last loaded it. It was within the past 48 hours, that I can say.
EDIT: I should add, I changed nothing on my server and nothing on my network. I’m connected at home on my WiFi. Given that it’s only my Android devices that are acting up, there has to be something going on there. @BigWheel any ideas?
EDIT 2: After some additional digging, I found a thread that suggested I go into settings on the app and allow insecure connections. After doing this, everything works fine on my phone. There’s obviously something going on with the certificate. Why this just came out of nowhere, I dunno, but this work around seems to be able to bypass the error.
This seems to be the most logical solution if others continue to have the issue, so I will mark it as the solution. I don’t know how to mark it as self solved anyways, ha.
