Plex Server keeps adding the same movies over and over again

I was hoping someone can help.

Around 4 or 5 months ago my Plex server started bringing up some Recently Added films ( my default sort) that were added years ago. I then noticed that it started saying on successive weeks that these movies were added 7 days ago etc.

I had to change my default sort to Recently Released.

I can’t think why this is happening. Not sure of it is Plex or Windows. I should say my movies are stored on a Synology NAS that reboots itself every 7 days.

I just ordered a new HDHomerun tuner as well so I would like this to work as good as possible. Any ideas why Plex keeps reloading the same films? I have pretty much all maintenance tasks turned on if that matters.

Are your media files stored outside of the Plex server box? If they are, you definitely want this preference be OFF:
Settings - Server - Library - ‘Empty trash automatically after every scan’

Hi OttoKerner - yes that setting was set to on. I just turned it off - lets see how that goes over the next few days.
