Plex Server Movies library not finding large files

Server Version#: DSM 6 and Plex: 1.24.1.4931

I’m finding Plex won’t find large movie files (26GB to 80GB in size) - If I download same movie as a 4-20gb or so file no problem. Same folder and file names. Any ideas?

I’d add even in folder view these folders do not show the movie file.

could be based on file types / formats – keep in mind Plex will e.g. not scan disc images (e.g. ISO, dvd-media … files).

Works just fine here. (my rip from my disk)

Thanks for the tips. The files are just regular MP4 files (and some MKV’s) but checked codecs and they’re regular MPEG4 files. So I don’t think its a file/codec compat thing but maybe?

Checked permissions and both share permissions and file station permissions are correct for user Plex (reset them both though to be sure - reset back to what they were with user Plex having R/W permissions).

So not sure what is going on. I redownloaded same movies (same folder/file names) but in small (approx 8GB) file sizes and they get found then. Its weird.

Checked that but they’re not in duplicates. For future reference though (since this is handy!) how do you split apart once you find something like that? I don’t see a split apart option?
