Plex server not available over LTE cellular data

Server Version#:4.87.2 (Manjaro Linux)
Player Version#: Web/Android App (latest)

My plex server was working great externally using the Android app until just recently. It works when I’m using a desktop computer with either the app or through a direct browser connection (https://myip.com:32400). It also works on a laptop with an LTE device with the app or through the web.

On my phone though it will sort of load the first page after I select the user and give the pin. It show a page that asks to setup favorites. If I wait a bit it will start to show me the latest episodes and movies but no thumbnails of the covers like it should. If I select something to play it give me an error and a retry button which clicking it just shows the same error.

I’ve confirmed this problem with a friend of mine. He is having the same issue with his cell phone.

I’ve check the app and android settings and plex is allowed to use cellular data.

Edit: The plex app on my phone works if I’m connected to wifi. It does not work if I’m using cellular data. The phone I’m using is a Microsoft Duo 1.

does it show that remote access is enabled in server settings?

It does. It says it’s " Fully accessible outside your network"

Are you using a custom domain? Do you have anything else entered in that field? Wondering if some clients are getting routed to wrong local server IP. Probably will need to see server logs and the client logs

I am using my own domain name and it resolves for all of my other web sites and apps (like sonarr, radarr, Foundry VTT). I’ve entered the custom domain name in Plex and have given it my own certificate for SSL. Like I say, it all works fine until I try and to use it over LTE. All my other sites work fine over LTE. It’s just plex giving me the issue.

I didn’t not mean to suggest that your domain was the issue. Just trying to determine your settings. If you can provide the server logs and the client logs trying to connect to the server we may be able to see what the problem is.
