I have PMS running in NVIDIA Shield and Synology NAS as a mounted storage. Noticed that there is no automatic scan when I add or remove media to my libraries. On PLEX support page: “Note: In most cases, this should work for content on local filesystems. It will generally not work for network shares mounted via SMB, NFS, AFP, or similar.”
Is it true?? No automatic libraries update in my case? Thanks for help
Yes. The auto-update works by PMS monitoring for a signal from the drive. Some drive do not send this signal when there is a change, so PMS doesn’t know a scan is needed. You can set PMS to scan on a timed interval. It’s not the same but it will at least provide some form of auto-update.
