I just downloaded the new Plex server version and wanted to upgrade the server. Unfortunately, it’s stuck somewhere during the upgrading process and I can’t reach the server. According to the Asustor App Central app, the upgrade is still running. The upgrade is max. 3-4 minutes usually, but now it’s almost 1 hour without finishing.
When I click to abort, I receive an error message: “Unable to abort. Process is about to be completed. (Ref. 6010).”
Same here. Rebooted the NAS after maybe 30 mins, now the new version appears as installed but won’t start. App Central won’t let me reinstall or downgrade either, guess I could try uninstalling and reinstalling next…
Same here - both my Asustor NAS (AS-608T and AS-6104T) have the same problem.
On one of them uninstalled Plex and reinstalled the older version - now that failed as well.
Guess I could try to manually delete the content of the Plex folder completly but really hesitate to rebuild everything from scratch just because some dummies at Plex Inc. released such a buggy version.
Seems to be a good reason to finally make the switch to Jellyfin !!!
I let my AS-5202T continue on the install and eventually the Plex icon came back to the Asustor desktop. I got here by trying to uninstall it and then tried reinstalling it (through App Central) Ultimately it just took some time and finally I noticed that the icon was back on the Asustor desktop.
Version installed ended up being: 1.25.2.5319-c43dc0277 on the info screen in Asustor App Central but 1.25.3.5409 on Settings - “My NAS—General”. Interesting. Seems to have “self healed”.
Just to clarify, I uninstalled and installed from the Asustor App Central, not the downloaded apk. It does seem to have kept the upgrade on the NAS but is showing the older version through the App Central page.
confirmed - this seems to work - I had to restart the NAS, then deactivate Plex, then restart NAS again, then delete the deactivated Plex, another restart of the NAS and finally installed Plex from App Central - luckily all data is still there.
Ok, thank goodness mine is now working again as well without doing anything more, the .5385 that I last installed manually somehow got fixed overnight. Maybe this was somehow related to the API issues at Plex.
Actually, after few hours the Plex server is working normally on my Asustor NAS. However, Asustor App central shows only the previous version number as installed.
I’m glad I’m not the only one with this problem (though it sucks that it’s a problem in the first place).
What I ultimately ended up doing was uninstalling 1.25.3.5409, manualling installing 1.25.3.5385, and it worked. Once loaded, Plex said there was a server update available, and I was originally going to ignore it, but then App Central indicated there was an update so I let it do its thing. It ended up installing 1.25.3.5409.
Perhaps there was/is an issue with manually installing 1.25.3.5409, but letting App Central install the update once it was available worked…? IDK…
I can also confirm that I just went to my “Installed Apps” and deleted Plex, restarted my NAS, and then reinstalled Plex from the app store. Took just a few minutes but it got my server back to running again and nothing was lost (that I know of).
