The plex media server service stops/quits randomly. i was able to pull these logs not sure if they will help.
See the server log article for how to pull proper logs. Next time this happens restart plex, wait 3 minutes and pull a copy of your server logs

Iโm curious about this matter as well, PMS has been crashing for a few weeks now and I have to either restart the server or close all processes on the task manager and relaunch PMS. This on Windows 64. It had been working fine for years.
@djkiuru Please move this folder outside of plex F:\TV Shows 2\YouTube\Music\Popular Wedding Entrance Songs and then empty the trash, and clean bundles. Then let me know if the issue persists. looks like plex is struggling with one or more files in that folder:
Feb 25, 2025 02:39:53.935 [4428] ERROR - FATAL ERROR: Log: Error handling format string 'Couldn't check for the existence of file %s: %s': boost::filesystem::path codecvt to string: error [codecvt:2]
EDIT: @elmemyself please create your own thread and we will work with you.
Thank you that did it, some weird character on a file name. Thanks again!
It would be good to know what character this was and to be able to recreate the issue.
Do you still know the original file name that caused the issue?
Is your media file storage on the local Plex server machine, or is it on a NAS device?

i am pretty sure this was the file. Fan Wei Qi ่็ฎ็ช- The Most Important Decision ๆ้่ฆ็ๅณๅฎ
actually it wasnt that one, it was this one. i just added this file back and it crashed. Funny the comment wouldnt post with the name pasted in the response box, i had to delete the last charater (as shown in the picture) in order for my response to post

I assume this file doesnโt make any problems if you substitute all characters with their regular versions and omit the last 3 characters completely?
correct if added like shown in the picture it works fine without crashing
![]()
That file name is still using non-regular characters (except for the file name extension).
but it doesnt crash the server as it is on the last picture.
Unfortunately, the last character in your screenshots is just showing some placeholder for an โunprintableโ character.
So we may never know which character it actually was.
i can still get the complete file name if need i can also get you the link of where it was downloaded from.
