Plex Service keep stopping and requires restarting on dsm7 Synology

Server Version (Synology NAS)#: DSM 7.1.1-42962 Update 5
Player Version (Plex)#: 4.87.2

Any help greatly appreciated as issue now driving me around the bend! Plex service keeps stopping on my NAS and needs to be manually restarted. Tried uninstalling, reinstalling multiple times, updating to latest version etc still having the same issue.

Might you be interested in testing a new PMS version with updated Intel Media Drivers for that system?

I see in your logs where if fails almost immediately after the transcoder is invoked.

I would like you to downgrade to the PMS PUBLIC release (1.31)

There are known regressions with beta 1.32.0.7002 (we’ve identified, fixed and are testing now)

that’ll get you back to working. I mistyped with 1.31.

For the future, I recommend keeping a couple copies handy.

They are only 78-80 MB each. (Far less than a video file)
I have a shared folder “Software” on my Syno.

Hi @ChuckPa OK have rolled back to that version… so far its looking good so thank you!

Hi @ChuckPa me again… so unfortunately I still have an issue with the service stopping and needing restarting manually. Things are definitely better though as now I am able to stream and download to my iOS device fine but as mentioned I still found I had to periodically restart the service.

The other issue now is I get the following warning message when I try and download the logs

Check if there is a typo in 192-168-1-104.a4bf003a9bc743c49f28076541fb9476.plex.direct.

  • If spelling is correct, [try running windows network Diagnostics](javascript:diagnoseErrors()).
