Plex showing incorrect library in web view - can no longer manage this library

Server Version#: Version 1.23.5.4862
Player Version#: Web.

So I have a TV Shows and a Movies Library with a couple folders in each (amongst others but these are the problem children).

For some reason it is showing the Movies Library under the Library tab in TV Shows AND in Movies as you can guess going forward this would make the TV library kind of unmanageable as I can’t edit anything. Every other tab is correct, Recommended and Collections is just fine, only Library is broken.

The Libraries look correct on the PC player and also on Android, i’ve tried on a couple different PC’s so I don’t think it’s a browser Chrome is what i normally use, I tried another browser Edge, as a last resort i created another user - that user sees the library correctly. As does another account I have shared the library with.

Kind of at my wits end, i’ve used plex for years now and only just bought plex pass and now it’s kinda broken. :frowning:

Please try to “Restore Defaults” in the debug settings in the app

this worked!

thank-you saved my bacon.

Glad it worked!

I’ve seen of occasional reports of this problem. Somehow some bad data is being saved, causing the tabs to get “stuck”.

If you can ever figure out how to reliably reproduce this behavior please do let me know. I’ve been having tons of trouble reproducing it (despite seeing reports of it, so I know it’s a problem)

ok, i was managing the library beforehand and this is what i was doing.

I went into Server>Settings>Library and turned off these three options.

Scan my library automatically
Your library will be updated automatically when changes to library folders are detected.

Run a partial scan when changes are detected
When changes to library folders are detected, only scan the folder that changed.

Scan my library periodically

I made sure to “Save Settings” each time I modified these settings.

Next I copied a folder of media from one drive to another (my libraries have several folders which are on seperate drives)

I then deleted the original folder and then turned those options back on and ran a Scan Library Files.

This worked great, and I waited for the scan to complete, mostly it went through and ran the detect intros.

I thought this was great, so i repeated the process above after the scan.

While I was waiting for things to copy this next time i was flicking between the two libraries just fiddling not doing anything,

after the copy completed re-enabled the above options again and pretty sure this is when everything went a bit haywire.

i may have missed some steps here, but this is pretty much it, i did wait for things to finish but that’s pretty much it.

It’s also possible/highly likely I had the web interface open on multiple machines.

Thanks! While that is certainly helpful it didn’t yield a reproducible case for me when I tried myself.

If you ever notice what causes the problem again and can determine the action that cause it I would love to know!
