Plex Showing wrong amount of TV Shows and Movies

I am viewing my plex server contents on the windows 10 based PC it is installed on on Firefox.

I have my media files stored on a microserver connected via ethernet. Everything works well, its just the amount of TV Shows showing in the Windows file veiwer is 415, but Plex is only showing 405. Likewise with my Films, In Windows there is 1588 showing, but Plex shows 1595.

I have checked the TV Shows manually by viewing the file windows and ticking them off as I see them on Plex and they are all there (I have not done this with films).

There are no duplicates showing at all.

Are maybe just filtered by something (or viewing by folder) so the number is the filtered amount?

Thanks for the quick reply, for my Film it was collections that increased the expected number by 8.

But for TV Shows, I do not have collections or filters applied. The amount of folders on disk is showing as 415, but plex in folder view shows 408.

look at it in the normal “TV shows” view? I am guessing you have a folder it thinks there are more than one show in or thinks is empty

It does not matter the view style (normal TV Shows or Folder), it always shows the same amount of TV Shows

Then I am guessing it thinks two separate shows are actually the same show. but for whatever reason none of the episodes duplicated.

I would try the Webtools plugin mentioned in Ottokerners link. You can also look at the scanner log and see the list of folders it added and if it ignored any

Thanks for your help.

I have finally had the time to crack this and now got it sorted.
The TV shows were not mis-reporting at all, I just have shows split in two locations so did not discount there was two folders with the same name on two seperate drives.

As for the movies they are sorted now as well, there were a few movies that had been slightly misnamed as in there were spaces missing or the year was wrong.

I have correct all the issues and everything is showing as it should.
