Plex stalls on Nvidia Shield Pro (2019) after few hours

I’ve consistently found that after a few hours of watching TV programs or Movies stored on my Synology NAS that eventually the playback gets a little jerky and then the remote no longer responds. If I then restart the Nvidia shield it’s all good again for several hours of viewing. It’s like there some sort of memory leakage and eventually the player has used up all the memory and stops working properly. This is repeatable it happens with monotonous regularity and is really annoying. It appears to be cumulative over play back sessions. The Nvidia just sleeps between viewing sessions, I don’t restart it.

I think this is a bug.

Almost exact same problem on Shield Pro 2019 Plex app randomly playback pauses, colours look funny, audio cuts out and remote no longer responds. Any of these things by itself is intolerable. Then starts again and then repeats errors. Restart doesn’t help. Complained about critically low memory, put extra 15GB stick in, but no help.

I thought to spin down and then restart nas server hdd that holds media, seemed to coincidently fix all issues. Time will tell.

I have never had such an issue. It might be the particular unit.

The server doesn’t affect this issue. It’s the client end. I can stream anting else to my iPad when this issue occurs and when I reset the Nvidia shield the problem is gone for hours of viewing.
