Iām having exactly same issue on Samsung TV with the Plex app not able to play any videos hosted on my local servers or videos from web, etc.
May be a DNS issue - not sure what givesā¦
Broken Also on Sharp/Hisense TV. Using DLNA seems to work for short term. How long should we expect to wait for a fix? Days, weeks, months?

So after going through the video settings I noticed that the H264 level was now set at 5.1 (recommended) so I changed it to 4.0 and tested a video that did not work before the change and voila! It started playing so maybe this could fix your issue as well good luck.
This pointed me in the right direction, I unchecked āAllow Direct Playā and āAllow Direct Streamā and that corrected the issue. Now what problems unchecking those options will cause has yet to be determined.

Plex is no longer working on 2017 LG tv. Any update on when this will be fixed?
It works fine on at least three of my users 2017 models.
Youāre going to need to provide far more than itās no longer working.
Ok everyone, I found a fix. Mine was working until today. The app stopped working and I went to the support menu in settings and selected āInitialization of appā and let it do itās thing. Started Plex again, authorized the TV, and it started working again. Hope this helps others.
Further to the last fixā¦
Log in to Plex on PC or Mac. Remove the Authorized Device causing the problem, (LG TV). Relaunch the App on the LG TV and reauthorize with a new PIN.
This worked for me.
