Plex stops working on LG 75um7570AUE

Player Version#: 2.1.3

This is what happens

Out of the box when i bought this TV it worked fine no issues but as soon as i turned off TV i came back and i get error 337 Check connection via wireless and wired. The temp fix is to factory reset TV and link plex to TV and works but starts all over again if i shut TV off again.

I have 10 days to return TV suggestions?

Just for the heck of it i tried the browser and no issues whatsoever…

I wanna add i see these errors now

QueryParser: Invalid field ‘contentDirectoryID’ found, ignoring.

Unable to find client profile for device; platform=webOS, platformVersion=4.7.0, device=, model=75UM7570AUE

If you’ve a Netflix account, check the network connection using their app. Settings -> Help -> Check Network Connection. It checks connectivity and download speed to their servers.

Regarding the Plex app, instead of resetting entire TV to factory defaults:

  1. Delete the Plex app from the TV.
  2. Power off the TV.
  3. Pull the power (remove from mains) for ~30 seconds.
  4. Restore power.
  5. Power on, re-install and re-authorize app.
  6. Verify app version in Plex app settings. Current version is 4.27.1.

The above makes sure you have the current version of the Plex app.

You should only have to do it once.

Try it, see if it helps, and report back.

Note 1: The wired Ethernet port is 100 Mbps. The 5GHz wireless supports 802.11ac and is faster than the wired port if you’ve a solid signal. It can help when playing high-bitrate videos such as 4K HDR in Plex.

Note 2: The reason for removing power is to fully stop any background processes. Turning off the TV only puts it to sleep, which does not necessarily stop/unload any running apps. This can also help if the TV or Plex app becomes unstable. It only takes a minute and can potentially save having to reset to factory defaults or removing/re-installing apps.

OK There are no updates on the TV Plex APP 2.1.3 is latest in LG content store and I do not have Netflix. I tried using the LG browser with no issues at all. I do have a Amazon prime account. I did have a Samsung Q60DR and the plex app had 0 Issues Unfortunately i returned it to buy this LG TV Due to Size and price point

this one on plex server is

Plex Web—General

Version 4.28.3

That version you see in LG content store is a loader only, normally updates occur automatically on TV start up.
Announcements:

To check your LG app version you can go to the apps settings/about or visit your Plex Server settings /Authorised devices.

The current LG app version : 4.27.1

You may benefit by adding your Server’s LAN IP address to LG settings / Manual Server. Port:32400

Thanks for the update.

That version is for the Plex Web client used in web browsers. See @SE56’s comments regarding the Plex LG app version.

Given the web browser and Amazon work OK it looks like the TV’s basic internet connectivity is working fine.

Try deleting / re-installing the Plex app using procedure I mentioned in my first post. See if that helps.

Plex for LG

you would be correct also
My server is on the west coast about 2000Km from me

Adding this Lan Ip setting thing would still work?

No that’s only for a local LAN, example inside your house were the server is found

Ahh ok Copy that. What makes me scratch my head is if i Reset TV completely and reinstall plex and connect to internet it works perfectly but soon as i shut off tv and turn on to watch it doesn’t even allow app to do anything other than say it can’t connect due to connection error 337

To understand your setup, you have a server many Miles away, your at a LG TV with an internet connection. Do you use a computer at the LG TV location?

A couple of thoughts:

If enabled, try disabling IPv6 in the TV’s network connection.

Try the XPlay app and see if it works. It is a 3rd party app that works with Plex. If XPlay works OK, then you might have found a bug in the Plex app.

If i use a laptop connected to Tv using browsers 0 issues also no issues using LG Browsers on TV Its the plex app on tv its self that is failing

IPv6 is disabled

I have Xplay installed and it works. But i will not pay for another player when i already pay monthly for plex

Agree. Only mentioned it for testing purposes.

I sent you a private message FordGuy61

I may have my understanding of the correct setup for a LG TV app but it needs a Server locally. A dumb/empty Server which is sharing with your Server at home I believe will give you the best results. Add your Laptop IP to LG TV manual server.

Remote viewing is normally via a browser unless sharing

Currently i am satisfied using LG browser till plex takes on this issue. also my second home has fiber which i wish i had here at my current location.

Your second home Down speed/ (into house) will be the critical one.

A gaming concole will also work, my son does that to watch my server.

Yup but its perfectly fine on other devices except LG plex app… and internet should not have any effect on simply shutting a tv off
