The PLEX internal subtitles disappear with each commercial break. I am using the Amazon Firestick through my Mac Pro Tower. Mac OS Sonoma 14.5.

PLEX is the only app that presents this problem. I have Apple+, Disney+, Paramount+, TUBI, FreeVee, ROKU, Amazon Prime, and more. All my other apps play subtitles with no problems. PLEX is the only one that quits. I have to turn subtitles back on 5 or 6 times per hour. Any suggestions?
Which FireTV Stick version do you have? And are you watching Live-TV or the on-demand Plex content?

Does this happen after every commercial break? So far I have not been able to reproduce it, my subtitles are still enabled after the ads.
Where are you starting the content from? For example the FireTV home screen, searching FIre TV, searching inside the Plex app or browsing the content on the Plex app?
I was able to reproduce the issue, seems to happen when starting playback from FireTV search/browsing but is not happening when starting playback from within the Plex app
The first time I watched DaVinci’s Demons Season 1, I picked it from a search.
Today I started playback of DaVinci’s Demons from the Continue Watching list,
Binge Worthy list, PLEX Pick list, and the Most Popular list.
All these playbacks dropped the subtitles after a commercial break.
