Plex throws error between 1:30 and 2:00 minutes of first episode played

This is an odd bug I've been experiencing.  For the first video I play, it will consistently error out between 1:30 and 2:00.  I can resume play back and it will play fine after than and won't happen on any subsequent videos I play after either.  Has any one else had any similar experiences?

this happens to me as well.. everytime I play an episode it errors out and when I resume the episode it resumes at 1:46 and plays the rest of the episode fine. It works fine on chromecast and I only experience this error on xbox 360

Glad to hear its not only me.  I also usually notice its resumes around 1:45.  It does not happen on any other device including the Xbox One.

I too have this exact issue. It is happening on 3 xbox360's here. All of them are hard wired Ethernet.

Try changing the server setting for when to throttle the transcoder. Settings->Server->Transcoder (Enable advanced) ->Transcoder default throttle buffer

I'm wondering if you change that value if it affects the time at which this occurs. This may not be the plex app for 360, but an issue on your servers (shot in the dark here.)

What hardware is all your guys' servers running on? Mine's on an AMD Phenom II X6 machine with 16GB of RAM and I am having literally no issues with Plex on the 360. Perhaps there's a certain server configuration that's failing since it seems to want to transcode everything regardless of format right now...

Logs files would help with troubleshooting, also specs of your server:

Relevant specs are as follows:

A10-5800K
8 GB 1600 mhz RAM
MSI FM2-A85XA-G65 FM2 AMD A85X

I also have several HDD in a pool using FlexRAID Snapshot RAID.

I started playing the file around 12:09 pm.

Further information, this issue also occurred when resuming a file that I had started previously.   I believe I started this video around 6 minutes in, so its not just when you start a video from the beginning.

I’ve got the same issue. I’ll try to post some logs asap

Logs are at: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ltyqzcx23m9815i/Plex%20Media%20Server.log?dl=0

Server is a Mac Mini (Late 2012, i7 QC 2.3Ghz, 4GB RAM) on Yosemite (10.10.1)

PMS is 0.9.11.5

If any additional info or testing is needed I'd be happy to provide!

I had this happening for the first 2 weeks as well and after trying to search the forums, trying different troubleshooting, I ended up getting it to stop by cutting out almost all other local network activity. It seems to happen quite regularly if other people on the network are downloading, watching YouTube, or playing games.

Of course, it could also be a complete coincidence.

No real other activity here, so I guess it is a coincidence.

I am still experiencing this issue every time I start using the Xbox 360 app.  It only happens on the first video I start playing. The Xbox One app does not have this issue.

Mine sometimes does it too when I leave it idle for some time and then come back to watch another episode.

Issue seams to be gone with the update!
