I used to be able to play trailers on my Samsung TV but I am no longer able to play them. I can on every other device that I have but it stopped working o. My Samsung. Nothing has changed except updates to Plex
Same here…and I just opted for a PlexPass. They play fine on the laptop and my Android phone but just a blank screen on the Samsung TV. Did you get anywhere with this?
No, what I did find out that it seems to be something with how the new release of plex no longer supports non-secure connection even though the option is there in the settings. They seemed to have moved away from this and my Samsung TV will only allow non-secure connections to play the trailers. I am going to see if I can make my Samsung TV use secure connections. Not sure yet on how to do that.

So I found something interesting. I connected my Samsung TV to my phones mobile hotspot and I was able to get the trailers to play. I then connected the TV back to my wifi router and the trailers won’t play. So this is something that has to do with my wifi router. The problem is that if I connect my phone to the wifi it can still play trailers but the TV won’t. I have checking everything I could possibly think of. I have a Nighthawk XR700 Pro Gaming router and I don’t see anywhere this it is blocking access by the mac address or anything. I can stream all other services like Netflix and such but not the plex trailers. Any one can help it will be appreciated.
Okay, so for this situation I had to do the following for this to work. I had to setup a guest wireless network with no security. Something about the security on the Samsung TV would not allow me to play trailers. So to keep the wireless somewhat secure I just didn’t broadcast the SSID and now I am able to play trailers. I am not sure why this is working but it is.
