@Aacidus Correct yeah I bought this up in beta and was kind of ignored. But that’s besides the point haha. I don’t know if you can backdate a fire stick. But if you can go back to 8. 11 you won’t have that issue until it’s fixed.
I’ll update you guys if I can get that exact 90-minute Mark time. But I’ll also update you guys if I hear back from the employee working on it, aside from Big Wheel;).
yea but if you downgrade the HE-AAC audio bug is present so it’s like picking and choosing your battles.
Yep
I can also confirm your 90-minute issue affects the HD home runs. Right at 90 minutes it did a buffer Loop and then came up with the unable to play Channel.
Dang, I didn’t want to believe it. But I also tested on my HDHR Extend, and it’s stuck on a loop after 90 mins on a single channel. However, the session is terminated at 100 mins, instead of the 94 for my IPTV. Quite annoying now.
Yeah they’re still working on it:(
Hey guys just wanted to give you an update. I have not heard back from the primary Plex employee that’s working on it and he’s not responding:(. This will be the third employee that put it on the back burner if that’s what’s happening. I’ll wait till the end of this week as that will mark almost two months with this problem and over 2 1/2 weeks with this employee and then maybe reach out to someone else. Not giving up on you guys! I don’t mind ruffling some feathers.
Beta fix has been posted here: Fire Stick stops playing live tv every few minutes, exits to guide. ([FFmpeg] [ERROR] [tls @ 0x81b7e740] Error in the pull function.) - #233 by sixones
Thank you I did forget to post in this thread, trying to keep up with all of them is tough.
This update is a lot better. It may have taken a long time but I think it fixes a large amount of buffering / time out problems I have tested in the short amount of time its been available.
This is Alpha and can have problems, so far I have found the recent channels are not updating correctly and the channels seem to load quicker but they’re not loading correctly sometimes. 8.11.0 is still the most stable build, but this is getting close.
@Aacidus Please report any new problems here. 90 minute buffer seems fixed in alpha and please mark post as solved if your findings are the same:)

The link that I provided above where I was trying to consolidate any problems that came up on the alpha 8.15 built has been taken down. I thought by donating my time this would have been a good idea to track these problems and squash them before beta. I’m not a Plex employee so I’m probably not the person that should be running that, and I respect that.
. Although I still think someone should be running it to make it easier for all the users to track, at least until it hits beta. Any problems with this build I think you can post in the link below even though it says fire stick as that’s where the build was released. I’m just super happy that 8.15 fixes most of the buffer problems, even though a couple problems have come up on this build it’s to be expected till it gets polished.
So loaded the Alpha build yesterday 3/11 on the 4K Firestick, didn’t want to post yet since I wanted to do a full testing, and well…
- No longer having this terminating session issue via HDHomerun or xTeve with IPTV. Which is awesome sauce. Am able to watch over 90 mins now.
- I have also checked on another issue I was having when pausing for a few minutes, then playing, and then rewinding would crash the Plex app… that’s also been remedied.
- As well as another problem (lol) of rewinding live tv after being far into a show; let’s say I would watch an hour’s worth and decide to rewind, it would crash the stream or app… no more.
The only problem I have witnessed now, is only aesthetic, the logos on IPTV are stretched and look awful, but I will post in the thread for this build.
Thanks so much @JasonsPlex for your updates and efforts; as well as @kegbeach for sharing findings; this made it seem like I wasn’t alone. Haha.
