Plex tv app libraries

I have the Plex server on my NAS server with 3 libraries for the 3 types of media files.

I then have the Plex App on my nVidia Shield , but 2 of the libraries are duplicated. EG Films library is duplicated, where one has the media files, but the other Films library is empty.

It is the same with TV Programs, one is empty.

How can I remove the empty libraries from the Plex TV app.

Thanks but I don’t want to customise the home screen on the TV app, and the other link for plex is the same for plex server on my NAS.

Can the duplicates be deleted or removed from the TV app

Use the first link to delete the old server from your user account, which you stopped to use ~1 month ago.

The second link can indeed be used to customize the front page of your Plex client. And thus make the old libraries kinda invisible.

Sorry, but I’m not understanding you very well when you say to delete the old server. The Plex server is on my NAS server, and I don’t want to delete it. Besides , the libraries on the PLex server are all ok, no duplicates.

Enter the settings of this Plex Shield app. (in the left side bar, either under the user avatar at the top, or at the very botttom)
Ensure that the settings category “Plex Media Server” is either completely devoid of icons, or that the server part of the Plex Shield app has been disabled.

You can use the Google Play Store app on the Shield to uninstall the Plex server part. Since your Plex server is running on a separate NAS device, you only need the Plex client (player) app.

Do you mean Account settings , under the user avatar,. There is no Plex Media Server listing in my account settings. Also the libraries in the Plex app from the first link, the libraries are the same as on my Plex server on my NAS server, and that is where all my media files are, on my NAS.

No, I mean “Settings”. Those for the Plex app on the Shield.

The only settings on Plex server app on my NAS are Account settings.

Just for clarifcation, I installed the Plex Server directly from the apps included in the TrueNAS server., and setup all the media shares for Plex on the server itself

Ok on the Plex TV app under or for user settings, there is nothing there for Plex Media Server

For the Plex app on my Shield, there are no settings options at all, just open, uninstall etc

It seems like the only way I can remove the empty libraries is by uninstalling the Plex TV app, and then reinstalling it.

The above actions only appear if you are outside of the Plex app, i.e. either on the general home page of the Shield, or in the Google Play Store.

I am referring to the Plex app, that you open with the remote control of the shield, that appears on your TV.
(i.e. NOT the one that you can open in your web browser)
