Plex.tv/pin login problem

I have a new Samsung TV and I’m trying to setup the plex app.

I have plex server setup on my MacBook pro.

When I load the plex app on the TV it advises me to login to plex.tv/pin however when I do this on my MacBook (safari) it cycles me through the main plex website over and over again. Any clues or advice?

1. on your Macbook:

open http://127.0.0.1:32400/web/

then connect your server

https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/200484543-Connecting-a-Server

2. then try to open http://plex.tv and 'Sign In'

3. then try http://plex.tv/pin

OR

just direct the samsung app to the local IP address of your Macbook

Do i need a computer or a laptop to get plex to work on my smart tv. I been haveing troubles trying to open the app. It keeps saying that the user don’t have access to a server or content! ! Please help i don’t lnow what their talking about . I paid for a full year subscription and i can’t watch anything

Do you have a server? or did you just get the app for your tv?

This is not a Netflix or HULU type of thing… Plex doesnt give you content… the content is YOURS that YOU OWN and have digital backups of that you add to YOUR server that you set up. OR… a friend\family member that has a server set up that is Sharing with you (in which you DO NOT need your own server).
