Not sure exactly what broke here. I just dumped a bunch of TV shows on my server, and realized it’s stopped getting metadata for them sometime in the last day or two.
This is an established server, established shows - all the currently running shows have names for episodes up until the episodes I got about 2 days ago, and then just episode numbers.
I tried restarting the plex docker and then refreshing metadata. Did not work.
I updated the plex version to the newest version available via Docker, Version 1.12.1.4885. This of course restarted the docker as well. Refreshing metadata did not work.
2 movies I added at the same time had no problem getting art and info, so I think it’s an issue with my tvdb agent. I looked at the log and some some errors but I’m not qualified to draw a conclusion from them, I don’t think. Here are my non-verbose logs.
I believe I am having the exact same issue using plex on an unraid server.
Metadata is not downloading, episodes names are missing. The names are the numbers such as “Episode 16”. It seems anything added from yesterday has not downloaded an episode name from the tvdb,
It looks like it just recovered on it’s own. I’m refreshing metadata now and it’s resolving episode names. I didn’t change anything on my end. Maybe the tvdb api was having issues.
TheTVDB has been having service issues for the past day or so and this does impact our metadata collection. tvdb2.plex.tv is a proxy for TheTVDB service
