Please help I keep getting this error when trying to update/download Plex for my new server
“This file does not have an app associated with it for performing this action. Please install an app or, if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Apps Settings page”
This is driving me nuts and I cant seem to figure out a fix for it.
Were you able to resolve?. I have just bought a x2 ultra and I cannot claim server. It reads update needed. I do it manually downloading latest version, but it continues to read that it needs an update. driving me crazy.

I have just bought an My Cloud EX2 Ultra and cannot get the Plex server to work.
When I try to configure and click on my account I get an error message:-
" No soup for you!
The server you’re trying to access doesn’t want to let you in. Make sure you’re signed in as a user with access to this server."
I am new to Plex and although I managed to run it on my PC I didnt want that running all the time, hence buying the My Cloud .
I desperately need some help.

When you say you updated was that the version of Plex server?
I am wondering if the latest version does not work on the ex2 ultra. I have looked to see if I can find an earlier version to install but not able to find a download for it. The only one I find is the latest but would like to find a file of an older version and install manuall.y. As has been said it is a pity there isn’t any Plex support other than this forum. If there is I have been unable to find it. I tried contacting WD but the help I did get has not resolved the issue and the suggestion is that it is a Plex issue and should be Plex to resolve. The WD EX2 Ultra does say “Plex server for beautifully organised media streaming” on the packaging which at the moment I find misleading!
So I am not sure exactly what I did to get it to work but I know I have to uninstall/reinstall Plex on the server a couple of times and I also reconfigured it. It seems to be working for the most part, my big problem now is that if I try to watch outside of my house (and inside some times) the movie does nothing but buffer.
