Plex web app is unable to connect securely to Plex Media Server on shield

Player Version#: 4.123.2 (via chrome on laptop)

I recently got a new internet hub (Virgin hub 5). After getting it all connected I realised my PMS had stopped working on my shield. I deleted the data and set up a new PMS. However when I try to connect to it from my dekstop web app (to re-add all my media to libraries) it says:

app.plex.tv is unable to connect to “xxxxx” securely. Its “Secure connections” setting may be set to disabled, or you may need to adjust some settings on your network.

I have tried rebooting the shield, logging out of the PMS and the desktop app. But havent got it to work.

Any ideas?

Yep, that’s right. I never wanted to use HTTPS within my network.

What changed? How is this rectified since the “secure settings” can’t be accessed without HTTPS?

I’m thinking the only way to rectify is to throw away the configurations and DB, and re-build the server from the ground up.
