Plex Web Player navigation doesn't work with browser shortcuts

Why does the Plex Web Player not utilize the standard “Back” (ALT+LEFT) and “Forward” (ALT+RIGHT) shortcuts that all Windows browsers utilize?

Netflix, Disney+, Prime, etc all can use these shortcuts for navigation, and Plex Web Player used to work this way as well, but not any longer. Why?

Even stranger is the fact that those exact shortcuts work in navigation for Plex’s own application, but not in the browser player.
