Hi I am currently mostly using my Plex Server and web player through the same desktop machine. I recently loaded a few episodes of a show and had handbrake include English Subtitles Burned as an option. However when I set Plex to subtitles None for the episode before playing an episode the setting is ignored I was curious if there is another setting I need to set or if I need to reburn those episodes with the subtitles option off to not have the subtitles displayed when player through Chrome Plex Web player
Handbrake burned the subtitles into the video. They cannot be disabled as they are part of the video frame. They no longer exist as a separate track.
Configure Handbrake to copy, not burn the subtitles.
If using the MP4 container, you may need to switch to MKV. MP4 supports less subtitle formats than MKV.
