As the title. Plex will not match Chosen (2022)

Trying to fix match using the imdb id or the tvdb id both fail to find the correct match.
Same here. Matching with tvdb-ID or IMDB-ID is not working at all since the new scanners where released.
Let me guess, you’re using the “improved” series agent? Switch back to TVDb and you’ll be perfectly able to correctly match the show. Or wait for an undefined amount of time, until its database is updated.
Funny how the “New and Improved” ain’t all that. But I got fed up with annoying “update your libraries” messages and indicators.
Flipped the library back to old tvdb agent and matches no problem. Flipped it back to the New one afterwards so it does not start adding any new episodes of existing stuff as new shows.
So hopefully when it comes to refreshing the metadata the Plex metadata databases will have caught up.
The new agent is great, if you give it time to aggregate the data from the sources from which it pulls. Same-day updates are not going to be reflected, you’ll need to give it 24-48 hours.

in 21st century waiting 24-48 hours for the delivery of pre-existing data is simply ridiculous, especially when the data is available literally on every of 3 major data sources within minutes after the premiere.
that’s a weak excuse. they don’t want to use 3rd-party databases directly, but spectacularly failing to match them in the update speed over and over again.
when the premiere date is known, forcing the update of that specific show within one- two hours after its premiere should easily solve the problem, either TVDb or TMDb, or both of them most definitely will have the information by then.
and (unless something has changed), they already run a cache of the tvdb for the old agent, so the data is already in their cache as evident by being able to fix the match using the old agent.
Although they aggregate from 3 sources, the primary source for the new agent is tmdb, so if the data is not on there or recently added there it makes no difference what is on tvdb or imdb.
