Plex will not open from Applications

Correct, do it from Apple app store or from

https://www.plex.tv/

There is nothing in Applications folder where you tried to launch?

No, there is nothing Plex in the applications folder. Also, what do I search the App store for? Plex does not show up

Looks like it’s not there

OK. Downloaded from Plex.tv and the exact same stuff happens - I open the zip file and then I run the Plex file. It asks if I want it to move itself to the applications folder. I say yes and it doesn’t do it, so I try that again and nothing, so I move it my self and then try to open the app and the same thing happens.

Go to Privacy and Security scroll down and allow to Security

Next to Allow applications.

That was already selected

Try opening the installer again

There is another message below the Allow Applications from…. It says my current security settings prevent the installation of system extensions….. is this an issue?

I forgot about this security issue. So Sorry.

Yup…. A whole nervous inducing set of instructions…..

It’s all good

It’s all good…. meaning I don’t need to do this or I do….?

Apple have locked down OS even more now. A super Gatekeeper if you like

Do it please

funny thing is, my M4 does not have this enabled…. regardless, I will be able to do this while still taking to you. The good thing about running 3 independent commuters at once!

All Cool

If you selected Reduced Security, select any of the following options, if needed:

Allow user management of kernel extensions from identified developers: Allows installation of software that uses legacy kernel extensions.

I had to do this on my M2 pro which I sold and bought a M4 Pro, super unit, love it so much. A beast for Video

OK. I did what you said and chose the following

If you selected Reduced Security, select any of the following options, if needed:

  • Allow user management of kernel extensions from identified developers: Allows installation of software that uses legacy kernel extensions.

Now I am downloading the program again…..

You may see a Allow prompt in Server settings/ Privacy & Security/ Security when you receive a Error on Desktop. Close error first
