Cannot "Add your media to Plex" -- Media Server already installed

I reinstalled Plex after reinstalling Windows. When I logged into my account, it has no option to add my files.

Going to Your Media, it just says
“Add your media to Plex
Organize, beautify, stream, and share your personal collection of movies, TV, music, and photos anywhere, on all your devices. To get started, download our free Plex Media Server software on the device where you store your media.”

No idea what’s happening, there’s no options anywhere for me to add my drive.

Is it possible that you are running the player without staring the server?

Plex Media Server is set to start at start-up, so I assume so. When I open the Plex Media Server from the Start bar, nothing happens.

Same thing for me, There was NO server setup. I see everyone who downloads/installs this will get a server setup and add media, add folders. Yes, i did install the plex server and plex app for WIN 10.
When I loaded it up, it just instantly went to the taskbar, No pop up menu at initial startup. Why?

So when i click on “SETTINGS” it seems to go My Account instead. Obviously the Settings Button is broken

Kuraudo, exactly the same here. Any one know what’s going on?

use the web app at http://127.0.0.1:32400/web for initial set up. Not the desktop app.

( that IP is assuming you are on same computer the server is installed)

BigWheel, I am. The PC is running both the server and the app. I’m only loading the web app, and have no options to add folders.

Comicscon and Bigwheel, I am. . The app is clearly broken. I looked at a dozen tutorials on Youtube. When the Server is installed, the first box that comes up is add and name your sever, add library. BUT NOTHING HAPPENED. It just went to the tsak bar.

can you remove the #!/getmediaserver off the end of the URL or does it still redirect you there

I can but that doesn’t solve the problem. Settings tab becomes my account tab. I think some error with the Setting thinks its my account. Those look like account settings if u look at my cap.

the screenshots you posted above are of the desktop app not you web browser, that’s is the only reason I mentioned that.

are these totally fresh installs or reinstalls? can you please try https://support.plex.tv/articles/204281528-why-am-i-locked-out-of-server-settings-and-how-do-i-get-in/

http://127.0.0.1:32400/web takes me to http://127.0.0.1:32400/web/index.html, but just says “Your home screen is empty”. Clicking on Your Media or the Settings tab both takes me to http://127.0.0.1:32400/web/index.html#!/get-plex-media-server.

The app is not launched. Plex takes me directly to the webpage , they look identical

The settings page takes me to the account page, which is the problem!

Click More:

Adding a Library-1

Your ‘Server’ should be in the Green Bit.
Hover over the Orange “+” - add Library.

Make the library type correct, add your library folders

Then you ‘Pin’ those Libraries to the Side bar as is explained - along with all the rest of this - Here:

Oh what? I don’t even have that in my options at all, no + symbol thats what I’ve been trying to say this whole time. But Ill try the regedit thing right now thanks!

You have to “Hover” your mouse over it.

Yea, I know… that’s dumb.

JuiceWSA, I also have no + symbol. Nothing comes up when I hover over it. Clicking on Your Media takes me again to the “Add your media to Plex” page.
