Plex will not scan directories with a space in their name

In DSM 6.x and below, Plex can see the folder name “TV Shows” and has no problem using it. and while you can create this same folder in DSM 7.2.2, the OS presents it as “TV Shows” however when you try to use the directory for scanning, Plex sees it as “TV\040Shows” and will not scan it, even though the permissions are correct.

Is this expected behavior or a bug?
