Plex will not show TV Guide and has stopped recording

My DVR on Windows 10 stopped recording a couple of days ago and when I try to look at the guide, on the local box or another computer this is what I see:

I have tried the following:

• Refresh guide.
• Remove the WinTV tuner and re-add it.
• I have rebuilt the db because the attached log files should show corruption.

What else do I have to do to get the DVR to show me what is on the channels and to start recording shows agin. This next image shows that there are no ‘upcoming’ recordings

But you can see that my NVidia Shield shows that the Tonight Show and Colbert have an upcoming episode

i downloaded a sql lite db ‘browser’ for a quick peak. This is what is in the table that appears to be in question.

Is there a ‘reset’ / ‘clean’ option I can do, since ‘optimize database’ didn’t seem to fix anything?

It appears your database is corrupted. I found an article on repairing a corrupt database, or you could restore a backup.

Thanks @hokierulz I was just trying that and the automatic process did not fix it. Next step would be to try a manual repair.

The rest of my server is OK, it is just the DVR aspect of it so I’d rather not have to delete server and start again because about 1/3 of all my assets need manual help to identify the correct media.

It may be worth trying a delete of the EPG databases while you have your Plex server shut down (I’d suggest moving them elsewhere as a backup.) There should be three files with names starting with “tv.plex.providers.epg.cloud”. You will need to find the Plex data directory and then they are under “(Data Directory)/Plug-in Support/Databases”. Start Plex server after moving them out of this folder and then do an EPG refresh.

This is just a shot since it is hard to know the extent of the database corruption.

Thanks @hokierulz , I was on a similar track and it appears to have been fixed. You can see from this screen shot that whatever want awry it looks like it was inserting duplicate info so it might have been violating a PK constraint on the db.

For any future people who have a similar issue (on Windows) I:

• Deleted the DVR.
• Exited the Server app in the Windows toolbar.
• Ran ‘repair’ a couple of times.
  ** Problem is, it looks like the repair initialized tables and applied permissions. Didn’t actually ‘repair’ any unexpected (bad) data.
• Started the server application and gave it a minute to warm up.
• Add the DVR and let the guide fully refresh. Even gave it a couple of minutes after it started showing items in the guide.
• Clicked to the DVR SCHEDULE and noticed duplicate entries; I deleted the entry showing ‘no upcoming airings’
• Scheduled a couple of new recordings - 1 ‘now’ or within the next 15 min and also one with an ‘All Episodes’ selected, starting somewhat soon.

… so far, everything seems to be OK.

It looks like the problem was not solved with my song and dance because I am right back to no longer recording and it looks like the computer is back to not seeing any recordings in the downloaded guide.

I can use my Shield in the short term but it has the problem of needing to be rebooted every few days or it looses the TV hardware - Recording failed. Please check your tuner or antenna
