Server Version#: The server is on a friend’s computer-I can’t get it.

I’ve downloaded a movie using the Windows desktop client.
I then downloaded a second movie- but the client deleted the first movie
before I could copy the file. Now, the download button is disabled for the movie
that was deleted. Why does plex care if it was already downloaded?
Is there a way I can reset the download button? It is currently disabled.
